(openPR) - It has been said that kittens are angels with whiskers and La Canada based, Happy Strays Cat Rescue, has had dozens of kittens enter foster care during the month of April. Each year, the late spring and summer months produce hundreds of kittens in the San Gabriel Valley and many of these found and abandoned little ones find their way to animal shelters, rescue groups, and families who care for them.
Happy Strays has nearly 50 kittens being nurtured and cared for in the homes of rescue volunteers, and fostering so many little ones is quickly draining the rescue’s resources. Volunteer Carrie Stubstad remarked, “We are reaching out to the La Canada community to lend a hand by donating much needed supplies for these kittens such as kitten food, kitten milk replacement, or meat flavored baby food. The vast cat population affects every neighborhood, and the solution to this problem is spay and neuter efforts for owned and stay cats alike.” Happy Strays Rescue has organized a “kitten shower” to accept items on Saturdays at the La Canada PETCO during their weekly adoptions from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Happy Strays Rescue is a not for profit rescue organization that cares for stray, abandoned and orphaned cats and kittens. All of our cats are attended to medically, each is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and tested for FeLv/FIV. We then begin the search for loving and permanent homes.
