Press release from: XClinical GmbH
(openPR) - XClinical’s CEO Dr. Philippe Verplancke becomes CDISC E3C member
XClinical GmbH, Munich, Germany – Apr 23, 2009 – XClinical, a European vendor of innovative software products for eClinical trials, today announced the election of its CEO Dr. Philippe Verplancke as a member of the European CDISC Coordinating Committee (E3C). After a series of interviews with representatives of the industry, the current E3C members decided to appoint Dr. Philippe Verplancke. “I’m very happy to help promote the adoption of CDISC standards throughout Europe”, Dr. Verplancke pointed out.
In 2007, XClinical’s EDC system MARVIN was the first system which received the CDISC certification for the full compliance with the CDISC Operational Data Model (ODM). Hence, it is not surprising that Dr. Philippe Verplancke already has concrete plans. “I want to specifically contribute my experiences in CDISC ODM and define.xml standards to show how these standards can be used to improve clinical data management processes.”
The E3C, consisting of up to ten members, was founded to support global CDISC initiatives within Europe and provide regional feedback to the central CDISC organization. The Committee is responsible for the organization of the European CDISC activities. E3C members organize events like the annual Interchange Conferences, the CDISC roadshows as well as trainings and seminars. They also support the CDISC User Groups in European countries. Furthermore they are in close contact with EMEA and national competent authorities.
