ecSTYLE - Style Guide Checker - Checking of Modeling Guide Lines for Simulink Models according to MAAB
Press release from: ExpertControl GmbH
(openPR) - Martinsried/Munich, Germany, April 20 2009: ExpertControl announce ecSTYLE, a flexible software package for checking Simulink models if they conform to programming style guides such as the MAAB style guide. Automatic corrections are supported as well..
In model-based design, The MathWorks, Inc Simulink® software is widely used. Models are often developed in teamwork, therefore it is important that all participants follow given guidelines to avoid misunderstandings and increase the readability and reusability of the models. For example in the automobile industry, common guidelines are the (J-)MAAB guidelines.
As models can grow very complex, checking that guidelines are followed by hand can be very cumbersome and erroneous. ecSTYLE checks the models to see whether the models conform to a certain subset of the (J-)MAAB guidelines, and if possible, do corrections automatically on user’s demand.
ecSTYLE is a powerful extension of software tools already offered by ExpertControl:
(a) ecVERSIM – Front-End for Version Control of Simulink Models at Subsystem Level for Concurrent Software Development with Multiple Users,
(b) ecDIFF – Graphical Differencing / Model Compare and Merge of Simulink / Stateflow Models

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
