Leading online fashion retailer YesStyle.com sponsors Harvard University's IDENTITIES: A Charity Fashion Show
Press release from: YesStyle.com Ltd
(openPR) - Leading online Asian fashion retailer YesStyle.com is proud to sponsor Identities: a cultural exploration of fashion, held in conjunction with the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Association at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 11, 2009. Proceeds from Identities 2009 will support MAP for Health, a Boston-based charity dedicated to promoting health awareness among at-risk communities.
Exploring the theme of interplay between Eastern and Western aspects of group identity, Identities 2009 will feature a diverse cast of 40 models strutting the catwalk at Harvard's Annenberg Hall. Segments of the show will parallel 1920s Shanghai and New York, and feature Asian American models in Americana-inspired outfits. In addition, the show will feature original designs by students from Harvard and New York fashion schools.
"YesStyle.com is delighted to sponsor this year's Identities," said YesStyle.com founder and CEO Joshua Lau. "YesStyle.com is dedicated to bringing the latest in Asian fashion to the United States and beyond, crossing boundaries between East and West through the shared culture of fashion. When Identities asked us to be a part of their 2009 show, we felt it was the perfect fit."
Identities co-producer and board member of the affiliated Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Association Christina Zhou stated, "I am excited for my team to work with YesStyle.com to promote our vision of exploring the interplay between the cultural and fashion aspects of Asian American identity."
Identities 2009 marks the third edition of the charity fashion show. In July 2009, YesStyle.com will be celebrating its third anniversary online.
