American Inks & Coatings Executive Wins "Pro to Know" Award; Controller Recognized for Successful Manufacturing Software Implementation
Press release from: Deacom, Inc.
(openPR) - WAYNE, PA - March 25, 2009 - The controller of an ink and coatings manufacturer for the packaging industry, Rob Raeke, has been named a 2009 Pro to Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine. Raeke received the honor for his leadership in implementing an integrated manufacturing software system that helped Sheridan, Ark.-based American Inks and Coatings simplify its IT environment and reduce technology costs.
Raeke is recognized as one of 18 Practitioner Pros to Know in the February/March 2009 issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. The designation recognizes executives at manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprises that have demonstrated leadership during the current economic downturn by managing risk in the supply chain, providing competitive advantage and/or delivering value to the bottom line.
"By turning the spotlight on these outstanding Practitioner Pros to Know, we are not only recognizing their accomplishments but also offering them as role models for other executives looking to bring their own organizations through these turbulent economic times and take Supply Chain to a higher, more strategic level within the enterprise," said Andrew K. Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
American Inks and Coatings selected DEACOM because it integrates all aspects of an ink and coatings manufacturer, including formulation, inventory control, regulatory reporting, lot tracking, order entry, accounting, purchasing, and production, in a single system. With DEACOM, American Inks and Coatings eliminated system communication problems and reduced the complexity - and cost - of IT operations.
Through Raeke's leadership, American Inks and Coatings implemented the DEACOM ERP System in seven weeks. The single software system replaced the company's formerly complicated software setup, which included three customized programs, 18 servers, and 16 TI lines.
"With this ERP system, we're no longer dependent on IT support," Raeke said. "It's simple enough that users can manage the software without additional overtime."
"The system more than paid for itself in efficiencies during the first year," Raeke said. "Our company is now in a strong competitive position for future growth."

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
