Current Programming on VernissageTV Art TV: Focus Madrid and New York

(openPR) - Basel, March 24, 2009 - The current episodes on VernissageTV art tv focus on the art scene in Madrid / Spain and New York. Apart from the art fairs ARCO and Armory Show, VernissageTV covers openings and exhibitions in the museums and galleries.
VernissageTV talks with Marc Vives of the art duo Bestué / Vives. Marc Vives and David Bestué will represent Spain at the upcoming Venice Biennial. In Madrid, they show two installations at the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo. In Sevilla, VernissageTV had a look at the Nancy Spero retrospective and the installation Morning Line, an art / architecture / sound-installation by Matthew Ritchie. In Bilbao, VernissageTV attended the opening of the Cai Guo-Qiang-retrospective at the Museo Guggenheim Bilbao.
VernissageTV's coverage of the art scene in New York includes the large Martin Kippenberger-retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art MoMA, the solo show with new works by Tony Oursler at Metro Pictures Gallery, and the Mixer.Expo09 event at Art and Technology Center Eyebeam. VernissageTV also took part in a sales tour at Lisa Kirk's Maison des Cartes (House of Cards), followed a consultation at Christine Hill's Volksboutique Armory Apothecary, and attended the Grand Opening of Pierogi Gallery's new space "The Boiler" in Brooklyn.
Additional highlights are the comprehensive Josephine Meckseper-retrospective in Zurich, an exhibition about Andy Warhol's ventures in Television in Paris, and the Tracey Emin show at the Museum of Fine Arts in Bern, Switzerland.
The next focus will be the 43rd edition of the longest-running art fair in the world, Art Cologne Internationaler Kunstmarkt in Cologne, Germany.
