(openPR) - Leading project leadership software vendor increases investment in open source product line

Onepoint Software, the leading vendor of commercial open source project leadership software solutions, has joined the Open Source Business Foundation (OSBF). As one of the first software companies who pioneered the dual licensing strategy in Europe, the OSBF’s focus fully matches the company’s open source strategy. Onepoint offers its project and portfolio management software “Onepoint Project” in both open source and commercial editions. While the Open Edition allows deploying a project management system at basically zero cost, the commercial Enterprise Edition provides advanced features such as a graphical “Project Pipeline”, an interactive work breakdown structure (WBS) or an automatic milestone trend analysis.

The Open Source Business Foundation is a European-wide open source network founded in 2006 in Nuremburg, Germany. In early 2008 the foundation had already more than 120 members that shared a common vision regarding the development and interaction of open source business solutions. The members range from small and medium-sized independent software vendors such as Onepoint to heavyweights like Novell and Deutsche Post. Key topics include interoperability and open source business models.

Onepoint is committed to significantly increase the investment in their open source product and community. Joining the OSBF was just the first of a series of actions around open source that are planned for this year. More details will be revealed after the public release of Onepoint Project 9 that is due in late spring.
