New Version Conigma™ CCM V3.3 with significant Improvements available now
Press release from: Galileo Tools GmbH
(openPR) - Conigma™ CCM in the newest version 3.3 provides many important improvements, particularly in the areas of Import Control, Reporting, User Interface and Performance.
Munich, 16th March 2009 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for SAP® change, release and transport management has announced that Conigma is now available in the latest version, 3.3. The new version contains significant improvements in the areas of control and automation of SAP imports, while a completely revised Reporting module provides direct linkage to MS Excel and a graphical UI to display report results. In order to meet the requirements of clients with very large and complex SAP landscapes, involving hundreds of developers and tens of thousands of change requests annually, in the new version of Conigma the user interface has been improved further on and the performance of solution has been considerable increased.
"The improvements and new features we have developed in the new version of Conigma reflect the requirements of our clients and their experience using SAP. The main focus of this release has been new functionality to fully automate the transport processes, governed by a well-defined Change and Release Management Process. At a time when IT budgets are tight, automation – which avoids errors and expensive repair work – is an absolute must for every IT organization", says Josef Huber, General Manager of Galileo Tools GmbH. "We are confident that the vast majority of organizations which operate a complex SAP landscape will be able to make considerable savings within a very short time with Conigma."
Conigma™ CCM Version 3.3
In addition to performance enhancements and new, even more user-friendly interfaces – including for example an extended “favorites” function for objects which are frequently used – the following new functionalities have been implemented in the current version of Conigma:
Automation of the SAP Transport Process
• Import Control (import tasks and import jobs)
The management of imports based on import tasks has been expanded to include a large number of new functionalities such as the exclusion of certain order categories, filtering according to result of the return code of the preceding import and the capture and management of import jobs planed on TMS level.
• Repacking of CTS Change Requests
Conigma CCM now supports automatic repacking, i.e. the generation of collective orders with a well defined software status based on the object list of one or more source orders. This allows to simplify the software distribution and to significantly accelerate import to the target system.
• Automatic Execution of Tasks after Import
If certain tasks have to be executed automatically after the import of transport orders, these can now be started directly by the Conigma workflow after importing the respective order, and results can be utilised to trigger subsequent steps in the workflow. Hereby the development team is relieved of these manual tasks, while at the same time a further source of error is eliminated.
• Supporting Business Warehouse Environments and "Import Single" Strategy
In BI-/BW-environments, utilization of an "Import Subset" strategy may result in many problems. Conigma therefore now also supports the "Import Single" import strategy, whereby the individual orders are imported sequentially into the target system. In addition to supporting "Import Single", additional support functions such as the manual definition of the import sequence and the definition of stop marks to execute necessary manual interventions before proceeding with the import may be used.
Reporting
Evaluation of the information generated and managed by Conigma – for example, in order to discover and resolve weak points in the SAP change process, to facilitate fast decision-making in project and development management on the basis of current data, or to report on costs – is becoming increasingly important in a large number of IT organizations. Consequently the Report Manager in Conigma has been radically improved and now provides a series of templates for the reports most frequently required. These templates can be used easily by clients as base for the creation of further, customized reports. Reports are displayed in SAPgui and also in HTML and can be exported to MS-Excel for further work and graphical presentation.
Structuring and Automation in the Development Process
• Hierarchical Change Requests
Conigma now supports multi-level change requests organized on a hierarchical basis, so that complex requirements, which need to be broken down into smaller parts, can be structured in an optimal way.
• Development Guidelines
The development guidelines in Conigma enable for even the most varied types of SAP systems, projects, releases and change requests to centrally register, parameterize and control their behavior without it being necessary to modify the existing individual objects themselves.
• Automatic Unicode Conversion
With the help of Conigma CCM, customers with system landscapes which include SAP systems that are Unicode capable as well as SAP systems which are not Unicode capable can perform fully automatic transports from a non-Unicode capable system into a Unicode capable system without additional manual activities; hereby Conigma is able to automatically convert the relevant objects to Unicode and generate a new Unicode capable transport.
