BotProof's CAPTCHA 2.0 plugin enables WordPress bloggers to filter out fraudulent submissions by automated programs, commonly referred to as bots. Using patent-pending technology, BotProof creates dynamic CAPTCHA images that are easy to read but can not be interpreted by bots.
"WordPress users have long suffered from automated programs – or bots – posting comments to blogs that are, at best, off topic and often contain spam or otherwise clutter compelling discussions," says BotProof co-founder and CTO Anthony Koziol. "Our CAPTCHA 2.0 plugin increases the efficacy of CAPTCHAs to filter out fraudulent submissions as well as making it easier for legitimate users to complete the CAPTCHA."
Critical to the effectiveness of BotProof's technology is its use of dynamic images that are easy for humans to decipher but virtually impossible for bots to read. "Further," Koziol adds, "if a talented programmer were to create a bot capable of deciphering any of our given CAPTCHAs, we can easily change key parameters on subsequent CAPTCHAs rendering such bot attacks harmless."
