Press release from: Siemens Enterprise Communications

Top 35 accountancy firm cuts costs and helps staff be more productive with managed service

Siemens Enterprise Communications today announces that accountancy firm haysmacintyre will roll out its OpenScape unified communications suite to increase staff productivity, improve business continuity capabilities and reduce its ongoing communications costs. haysmacintyre will enhance communications functionality across the organisation by introducing unified communications applications such as presence, availability and video/web conferencing, allowing its workforce to communicate more effectively with clients and colleagues worldwide.

haysmacintyre chose to replace an existing PBX system with a managed unified communications solution, to increase efficiency, reduce downtime and cut system maintenance costs. In order to provide the best possible service to clients, haysmacintyre opted for a session initiation SIP-based trunk to ensure that business continuity processes are activated quickly and effectively. Siemens’ OpenScape unified communications also met the company’s requirements by offering easy migration and integration into the existing communications infrastructure, rather than requiring a “rip and replace” approach.

Simon Bulleyment, Chief Information Officer, haysmacintyre, says: “We were keen to evolve our existing communications infrastructure with a next generation communications platform; we had an existing telephony system that was nearing five years old and we felt it was important to continue to offer cutting edge services.

“Siemens was also the only supplier able to offer a true, open, SIP solution, with a complete enterprise feature set that addressed our specific needs, namely disaster recovery, ease of migration and integration. The fact that OpenScape Voice fitted so seamlessly into our existing technology infrastructure was a must while Siemens’ managed service capability has meant that the system continues to perform at its best.”

Tim Bishop, director of strategy, Siemens Enterprise Communications, says: “We are now operating in a global economy experiencing downturn; IT spend is being analysed more closely and it’s important for businesses to opt for a communications solution that is cost effective and long lasting. Professional services firms such as haysmacintyre are striving to deliver the best service while reducing costs; implementing advanced communications infrastructures is a very cost-effective way to enhance customer and colleague experiences.”
