(openPR) - This new torsion-proof coupling from R+W beats the ravages of time. Now that the compact BKC model series has established itself on the market (launched in 2005), a shorter BKM model series will once again be available to users in 2009.

The compactness of this model in comparison to the BKC is clearly evident (not as long). This has been made possible by the 2-corrugation inside the metal bellows. The coupling’s small external diameter in relation to the torque transmission level is also new. A coupling diameter that was 30% bigger previously had to be used with torque transmission of 1000 Nm.

However, this new development allows the size of the coupling housing to be reduced from 160 mm to 112 mm! This means that as well as saving space, the BKM model series also reduces costs by reducing the size of the housing.The component covers a torque range of 20 to 1000 Nm and shaft diameters of 16 – 60 mm.
