I’m lovin’ it! McDonalds.de launched on CONTENS

(openPR) - Munich, 29.01.2009 – With a new visual and technical concept, the McDonald’s Germany website was modernized and launched on the basis of the Content Management Platform from CONTENS. Full screen videos, online games and an attractive presentation of the products work up the visitors appetites for the website.

The new McDonald’s Germany (www.mcdonalds.de) internet appearance combines the online communication of the company with the TV campaigns and the design concept of the restaurants in an unique way.

Full screen videos convey a TV-feel and present the current actions of the company. Entertaining online games such as Hüttengaudi or the Monopoly lottery invite the visitors to the website to join in and challenge friends. Anyone wanting to work up an appetite at the screen can find high resolution images in the products area of burgers, chicken McNuggets and salads, as well as the relevant ingredient and nutritional value information. Furthermore, the new website informs in detail of the history of McDonald’s as well as current career possibilities.

The online experts from McDonald’s chose the Content Management technology from CONTENS for the foundation of their re-launch, together with their agency Neue Digitale / Razorfish. The CMS from CONTENS convinced the decision makers at McDonalds due to the high degree of technical flexibility, the modular expansion, and the intuitive user interface.

Flash files and flash videos can easily be integrated into CONTENS and the texts and images used in flash can be directly edited within the CMS. In order for search engines to optimally index the new McDonald’s website, and for users to also use it without flash, the content is automatically published in a simple HTML version.

For the easy administration of the extensive product offer, an individual product database was developed for McDonald’s and was integrated into the CONTENS backend with the help of the efficient form interfaces.

With convenient online forms, those responsible for the website can edit information for each product at any time. At the same time, CONTENS creates all the data in XML format.

The implementation of the new website was carried out within three months in close co-operation with the agency Neue Digitale / Razorfish in Berlin (www.neue-digitale.de).
