Press release from: XING AG

Hamburg, January 15, 2009. With effect from today, Dr. Stefan Gross-Selbeck has taken up his position as the new CEO of the publicly listed XING AG (O1BC/ISIN DE000XNG888). Originally reported in November 2008, today’s announcement marks a smooth transition at the top of the company’s Executive Board as planned. He succeeds the company’s Founder, Lars Hinrichs, who will become a member of the Supervisory Board, where he will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity.

The appointment of Dr. Gross-Selbeck sees a highly experienced Internet Manager take over the helm of the profitable and expanding business network, which has reported a consistent growth in member numbers, revenues and profits ever since its founding in 2003 and its successful IPO in December 2006. “Our members network particularly actively during periods of economic uncertainty. This places XING in an excellent position and we intend to grasp the opportunity to raise XING’s value for members even further with a view to broadening our potentials for increased revenues and operating profits,” commented Dr. Gross-Selbeck. Having graduated with a degree in Law and having gained an MBA from the distinguished INSEAD University, he went on to work initially for the Boston Consulting Group, later changing to a post at the European media conglomerate ProSiebenSat1 Media AG. Since 2002 Gross-Selbeck has held various management positions at eBay. He held overall responsibility for the entire German business division from 2004 onwards, where he oversaw the company’s growth. During recent years, Germany has grown into the largest and most important eBay market outside the U.S. During a brief transition phase, Dr. Stefan Gross-Selbeck will be cooperating closely with Lars Hinrichs and will gradually take on the responsibilities involved. Mr. Hinrichs commented on the appointment as follows: “I am delighted that we have succeeded in recruiting Dr. Stefan Gross-Selbeck for XING and am very confident that his leadership will not only see a continuation of the XING success story but also give this success even more impetus”.
