Philippines, Manila, January 2009 – In a move to cater to desktop DVR enthusiasts, Neugent Technologies, a leading developer of Linux-based digital video surveillance solutions has expanded its line of embedded DVR with the introduction of SP-2000 desktop standalone. The SP-2000 delivers key functionality and enhanced capabilities in a compact desktop chassis which can either work stand-alone or be used to build a powerful surveillance network.

SP-2000 Desktop DVR, a cost-effective, compact 4-, 8-, or 16-channel digital video recorder, brings the benefits of digital security monitoring to small commercial applications. Built on an efficient embedded platform, it supports up to 16 video channels and live recording at up to 30FPS using advanced hardware MPEG4 compression. Delivering excellent DVD quality videos, SP-2000 is also packed with improved features such as optimized video streaming across multiple devices (i.e. PC, PDA/mobile), powerful network monitoring, TV out support, SATA support and flexible integration capability.

“Neugent continues to enhance its portfolio of embedded DVR products to ensure we offer customers choices that meet their personal performance and requirements,” says Michael Jang, CEO of Neugent Technologies.

Other features include intuitive user-interface, support for multiple PTZ protocols and sensor/alarm integration. It also supports up to two HDDs with up to 2TB data storage capacity, and has built in 2 USB 2.0 interfaces for external backup. The SP-2000 is also shipped with optional integrated POS text insertion software which can be easily integrated with a POS unit for loss prevention solution.
SP-2000 exudes great value and functionality for the price which has been specifically designed for small to medium-sized buildings, retail areas, commercial spaces, warehouses, banks, and corporate facilities.
