The law firm of Shackelford, Melton & McKinley, LLP, is announcing the addition of experienced attorneys Brian T. McCabe and Keith Ward to lead the firm’s new office in Austin.

Mr. McCabe has more than 30 years of experience in public finance law with firms in New York, New Mexico and Texas, where he has represented all types of political subdivisions in litigation and finance matters. His work includes serving as bond attorney and legal counsel for states, cities, counties, school districts and special law districts across the United States. For the past 20 years, Mr. McCabe has maintained a private practice in Austin, focusing on legislative consulting for public and private sector clients in the areas of municipal affairs and finance, construction, procurement, housing and health care law. He earned his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law after completing his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas.

For almost 15 years, Mr. Ward has devoted his legal practice to general commercial litigation and transactional law on behalf of real estate developers, business owners and individuals. His experience includes working with municipalities in matters regarding code enforcement and building standards as well as handling litigation claims related to sales transactions, tenant complaints, fiduciary litigation and construction disputes. A licensed certified public accountant, Mr. Ward earned his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law after obtaining his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas.
