DUBDIVER CD Floating Beats
Press release from: Blue FLame Records
(openPR) - DubDiver – the sound
Full of modern grooves, melancholy and relaxing.
If you enjoy listening to the sound of bands such as Thievery Corporation or De-Phazz, then you will also appreciate the sound of DubDiver- these are at least the press‘ comments. Producer Stefan Korn names his style floating beats, seeing himself also influenced by artists like Karsh Kale or Bill Laswell.
After many years as drummer and composer in different band projects it is now time for him to translate his own musical ideas into action, in which he can’t deny his passion for drums and percussion.
On the basis of different layers of flowing grooves, put on one another, warm soundpaintings originate.
Live-played and programmed sounds complement one another and are being filtered, edited and newly assembled till a new homogenous and organic sound arises.
DubDiver takes musical inspirations from Downbeat, Drum & Bass and Asian Underground music.
Without sounding downright or too polished, DubDiver offers the ideal music (not only) for driving into the sunset.
DubDiver - the person
Producer and Mastermind Stefan Korn startet his musical career as a drummer in various bands. Tours from the East Sea to Switzerland lead him from the tiniest club gig to the stage of Berlin Arena Velodrom, followed by several CD releases and accompanied by the co-operation with Uwe Hoffmann (Producer of „Die Ärzte) and Jean Beauvoir (Crown of Thorns/Little Steven).
The organic use of samplers and sequencers in live-presentation aroused his interest in producing electronic music.
Soon first successes appeared: Stefan Korn produced the the music for radio-commercials and image-film of an energy service company .
For Hannovers computer fair CEBIT he worked out the soundtrack for COMPAQ’s audiovisual presentation and released a track on the Generation East sampler under the name DubDiver.
DubDiver - the project
DubDiver is an open studio-project: Corresponding to the idea to create an addition of live-played and programmed parts of music, Stefan Korn was able to inspire other friends and musicians to work with him on the transposition of the DubDiver sound:
Singer Maurice Etoile studied classical singing and is moving on the borders of both classical and electronic music. With her warm voice she shapes the song “The Girl from Ipanema (Varanasi)”.
Sitar-player Mirco Nolten learned to play the sitar on his numerous and extensive
journeys to India, financed by his involvement in the development of “Pampers” nappies.
Singer and actress Valeska Rautenberg with her charismatic voice gives a very special character to “Reverie”. She has already worked on international music
productions and was to be seen on cinema screens.
Singer, bassplayer and writer Rene Rose inspired “Feel the Flow” with the prologue of his book “Aarons Lounge”.
Guitar-player Steffe Köhler in his own special open-tuned style contributes a flowing guitartheme to the song “Surya Mangalam”

Comments about openPR
Your portal is fast, simple, and easy to use. Others may have more functions but they also demand more editing time, you have to preformat the text in order to achieve a good result etc.
