PSI Offers Public Transportation Companies New Solution for Group Calls
Press release from: PSI AG
(openPR) - Berlin, 16 December 2008 - The PSI subsidiary PSI Transcom GmbH is offering public transportation companies a new solution for mobile group calls. The solution will be integrated into the control system PSItraffic using modern on-board computers or mobile telephones and separate hands-free equipment. It may also be employed as an independent radio system with a geographic display of the vehicle (GIS map).
Unlike with comparable applications voice is transmitted between the participants (driver, dispatcher) with the data transmission occurring as soon as the speaking begins. This significantly reduces the time until the recipient receives the message. The PSI solution allows for simultaneous listening and speaking of all participants (group call) as well as the push-to-talk (PTT) function known to radio communication, where it is only possible to speak when the transmission button is pushed.
Beyond the possibility to telephone using the mobile telephone network, it is also possible to use the high network coverage and the increasing data transmission capacity of the mobile telephone networks. This means that in overloaded GSM cells, for instance on New Year’s, the free GPRS data channels are available for transmitting voice data quickly and securely. The use of the GSM/GPRS network for voice and data transmission represents an inexpensive alternative for transportation companies to install and operate their own radio network.
PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (metals, mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs 1,100 persons in the group. www.psi.de/en

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
