Location-Based platform JOYity soon on Apple iPhone
Press release from: Zelfi AG
The Apple iPhone offers all the right technological features to be ideally suitable for JOYity's outdoor gaming adventures. As of 2009, this new location-based platform will allow to quickly and easily play GPS games in one's closer vicinity, providing a unique interactive game experience.
Currently, the iPhone tallies close to 2,000 game offerings on the market, with an upward trend. And soon, JOYity will join. This location-based platform belongs to the newest innovations in the games market and distinguishes itself in connecting its games to physical reality. The cell phone serving as the game device transmits all information necessary to engage in the JOYity game. Crucial element to these games is the player's geographical position. It's displayed on a street map and can be critical to the course of the game.
When selecting a game, the player decides for a mission, which he then has to accomplish in order to win the game. The missions consist of various tasks that must be solved. They can be very simple tasks, similar to a quiz, but also peculiarly tricky problems that may require not only a good amount of mental but also of physical capabilities. Because, not unlike in Geocaching, the tasks can only be solved on-site.
The player can choose from a variety of games, many of which are tailored towards a particular location. However, there's also the possibility of creating one's own games. Straight from the cell phone, a good game concept can easily be realized and connected to one's own city and/or to a particular real life event. Depending on the mission, the games can be played alone or with or against others, creating an exciting atmosphere of competition. Aside from actually playing the games, JOYity also allows to actively invite other users to join. That's a good opportunity to make new acquaintances — especially, if one's the new kid on the block.
Early next year, Zelfi is going to offer the Reality GPS Game for download in Apple AppStores. Further information can be found online on www.joyity.com.
