1north ltd. an office supplies company has capitalized on its success in the office products market to launch a new venture in the workshop supplies market. The new company, Tools and Screws ltd., was successfully launched this month and is providing employment and a boost to the local economy.
The company based in Rosehearty, Scotland was formed 3 years ago to service the office supplies market through the internet. In a short period of time it has become a significant player in this market and has now decided to capitalize on that success.
Bill Gray founder and CEO made the decision to expand into this area after his telesales staff started to comment on the number of enquiries they were getting for workshop related products such as safety equipment and hand tools. After thorough market research it was decided to launch the new product range as an independent site rather than to incorporate it into the existing site. In a short period of time some 16,000 products were sourced to ensure that a complete range would be available to both existing and potential new customers.The new site www.toolsandscrews.co.uk has been well received by existing customers enabling them to source all their requirements from one supplier. The company is still seeking additional suppliers and estimates that the product range will grow to some 35,000 products by mid 2006. This is in addition to the 24,000 products already offered on www.1north.co.uk and www.londonstationary.co.uk in the office supplies market.
Bill Gray commented "initial indications are that the site will be a great success with site traffic exceeding our estimates by some 150%."
