(openPR) - Olching, 28th November 2008: With the IXI-UMS Connector 5.8 for use with SAP® R/3®, serVonic successfully completed the SAP-certification “Integration with SAP NetWeaver“ in the category fax systems. The IXI-UMS Connector 5.8 for use with SAP® R/3® has been certified by SAP for the SAPconnect interface for communication via fax and e-mail (BC-CON 3.1).
By the integration with SAP NetWeaver, faxes and short messages (SMS) can be sent from the SAP-system directly. By means of the addressing, the system recognizes that this is a message for the unified messaging server and transfers it via the interface BC-CON 3.1. The message is processed by the IXI-UMS Server accordingly and then sent. Incoming messages can be received directly in the SAP-system, too. After the messages have arrived at the IXI-UMS system and have been processed, they are transferred to the SAP-system via SAPconnect and are routed to the inbox of the respective recipient.

serVonic’s unified messaging solution IXI-UMS provides its functionality to several environments. For the optimum integration into SAP R/3 system environments, IXI-UMS offers the multitenant Connector 5.8 for use with SAP® R/3® (Release 3.1 or higher). The Connector, which can be configured by means of MMC-Snap-In, is installed on a Windows system as Service automatically. The IXI-UMS Kernel can be installed on the same machine or separately.
One IXI-UMS Kernel can collaborate with multiple IXI-UMS Connectors at a time. Especially for internationally operating concerns with several sites, serVonic developed a routing concept for IXI-UMS: Depending on the existing IT-infrastructure – e.g. centrally installed SAP system, locally installed messaging system such as Microsoft Exchange or IBM Lotus Domino –, a solution adjusted to the needs of the customer with optimal message distribution and delivery of the sending reports can be realized: IXI-UMS can be integrated and used in the respective messaging system locally as usual. The IXI-UMS messages can be sent via the head office directly out of SAP or via the messaging system. The IXI-UMS system at the head office routes the messages to the site via that the sending is the cheapest.
