5th International Trade Fair and Science Forum for Automatic Identification - EURO ID 2009
Press release from: IBC EUROFORUM GmbH
(openPR) - 5-7 May 2009, EXPO XXI, Cologne International Expocentre
Cologne/Duesseldorf, 24. November 2008. The International Trade Fair for Automatic Identification, EURO ID 2009, will open its doors for the fifth time from 5-7 May 2009. The only European cross-sector Auto ID show of its kind, the trade fair will again provide a platform in Cologne for the Auto ID market to showcase new market developments and technologies. EURO ID 2009 will identify interesting markets and present new technologies, especially in health care, pharmaceuticals, medical engineering, consumer goods and the automobile industry. Peter Altes, Project Director at the trade fair organiser IBC EUROFORUM GmbH (Informa Group), is particularly pleased that more than 50 per cent of the exhibition space has already been booked or reserved.
Key topics at the international show will include networked solutions ("plug-and-play principle"), mobile data acquisition and communication on a global scale, the integration of hardware into operating systems, tracking and tracing as well as new applications and related technologies such as sensors. The "Internet of Things" will again be one of the main themes at the Auto ID exhibition. Currently, the EU Commission is preparing a recommendation on RFID, which should be made public in January 2009, according to the media commissioner Viviane Reding. The new applications would play an enormous economic role in a number of industries, thereby making data privacy concerns of vital importance, according to Reding at the ministerial meeting on the Future of the Internet Economy, in Nice. (07.10.2008, heise online)
4th European AutoID Award
Companies can again apply for the "European Auto ID Award" this year, which will be presented for the fourth time in 2009. Applications are possible in the categores "RFID", "Barcode" and "Innovative Company". For the first time, companies can also be nominated for an award. The awards presentation will take place at EURO ID 2009.
Early bird special
Until 28 November 2009, prospective exhibitors can take advantage of an early booking discount of five per cent. The trade fair programme, exhibitor information and award details are available on the Internet www.euro-id-tradefair.com/?dn-press or can be requested by contacting Stefanie Kluckhuhn at: stefanie.kluckhuhn@euroforum.com or +49 (0)211/96 86-37 54.

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
Gabriele Ketterl,Director Marketing & PR, Menads
