Quantum announces streamlined Deduplication Solution for the Channel

New DXi7500 Express™ and QuikFit™ Program Offer Optimized Solution for SME Market

New Delhi, 20th November, 2008 – Quantum Corp. (NYSE:QTM), the leading global specialist in backup, recovery and archive, today announced a new preconfigured DXi™ appliance model optimized for small and medium enterprise environments, and a new configuration program designed to enable channel partners to size, order and install deduplication solutions even more effectively. Together, the DXi7500 Express disk backup system and QuikFit configuration program offer a streamlined path to deploying and managing deduplication in a wide range of distributed and midrange offerings.

The DXi7500 Express is a turnkey DXi7500 deduplication solution with all the hardware and software needed for midrange environments, including VTL and NAS interface licenses. Customers have the option to upgrade the system with replication and path-to-tape capabilities for systems designed to be used in multi-site environments and edge-to-core architectures. The bundled solution makes it more cost-effective for channel partners to specify, order, install, and integrate deduplication into a customer’s backup and recovery ecosystem.

The QuikFit sizing process, available to Quantum channel partners worldwide, provides a fast, easy way to identify the right deduplication solution for a wide range of standard business environments. Based on Quantum’s experience with its installed base, the QuikFit process eliminates the complexity of sizing and ordering deduplication systems, enabling channel partners to take a clearly defined approach to deduplication opportunities.
