Press release from: SYCODE

Panaji - 10th Nov, 2008 - SYCODE today launched six Vizualization Toolkit VTK file import and export plug-ins for Alibre Design, AutoCAD and Solid Edge.

"The Visualization ToolKit (VTK) is an open source, freely available software system for 3D computer graphics, image processing, and visualization used by thousands of researchers and developers around the world", explains Deelip Menezes, Founder and CEO of SYCODE. "The Toolkit stores geometric data in a file format known as VTK. Very few CAD applications have the ability to read and write VTK files. In recent months we have been receiving a growing number of requests to develop VTK data exchange plug-ins for the CAD systems that we support. These six plug-ins are the result of those requests. We are working on VTK data exchange plug-ins for other CAD systems as well and hope to release them shortly."

The plug-ins are priced at 195 EUR each and are available as fully functional 10 day/run trials. The software comes with detailed documentation in the form of a compiled HTML help file which contains a step-by-step tutorial to get the end user started in the shortest possible time.

The six data exchange plug-ins are:
1) VTK Import for Alibre Design - VTK file import plug-in for Alibre Design
2) VTK Export for Alibre Design - VTK file export plug-in for Alibre Design
3) VTK Import for AutoCAD - VTK file import plug-in for AutoCAD
4) VTK Export for AutoCAD - VTK file export plug-in for AutoCAD
5) VTK Import for Solid Edge - VTK file import plug-in for Solid Edge
6) VTK Export for Solid Edge - VTK file export plug-in for Solid Edge

Keeping in line with SYCODE's commitment of supporting older versions of CAD systems, the Alibre Design plug-ins have been tested to work with Alibre Design V9 up to the latest V11 version. The AutoCAD plug-ins support AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 (32 and 64 Bit) and 2009 (32 and 64 Bit). The Solid Edge plug-ins work with Solid Edge 10 through to the latest Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology.
