Irdeto Adds Taiwan to its Fast Growing Asia-Pacific Operations
Press release from: Irdeto
New office integral to strengthening company’s strength in pay-TV conditional access industry in the region
New Delhi – 4th November, 2008 – Irdeto, a leading expert in content and business model protection solutions and services, continues to broaden its presence in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region with the opening of a new office in Taiwan. The office joins Irdeto’s existing APAC locations in Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Thailand, and brings the total number of Irdeto’s offices worldwide to 26.
Located in the Xinyi District in Taipei, the Taiwan office is responsible for developing business strategies and identifying growth opportunities in the fast growing digital, IPTV, and mobile TV markets. The local office will play an integral role in Irdeto’s strategy to strengthen its dominant position in the conditional access (CA) and Digital Rights Management (DRM) market in the region. Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) has recently announced plans for digital migration of the cable TV system by 2013. Taiwan is currently home to approximately 58 cable service operators with a combined total of nearly 4.8 million households, representing a 48% penetration rate.
Among Irdeto’s growing list of customers, is Taiwan Fixed Network (TFN) Media, an established multi-system operator and subsidiary of Taiwan Mobile, the largest private fixed and mobile networks telecommunications service provider. Irdeto’s latest digital TV solution will support TFN Media in its introduction of advanced interactive TV services, such as pay-per-view, video-on-demand and personal video recorder services, to one million subscribers by the end of 2009.
“In the past 15 months, we have added three new offices in the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore and Tokyo, because we believe so strongly in the growth potential in the Asian pay-TV market,” stated Graham Kill, CEO of Irdeto. “The Taiwan office opening allows us the ability to not only provide our proven solutions, but to assist Taiwanese operators in maximizing their growth potential in the digital TV era by providing our expanded solution offerings.”

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
