Munich, 3rd November 2008 - BTD Newmedia have announced that Axel Heyenga is joining as an acting member of the board and the new head of Project Management & Business Development since 1st November 2008. Together with Stefan Leibhard, one of the founders and leading shareholders of the company, they aim to further enhance the companies position in the market and further development (in other markets)

Axel was previously with the International Management Group (IMG) and brings his extensive wealth of experience from sports marketing and media to BTD Newmedia. Axel is targeting to expand the companies portfolio, by using experiences within the sports industry and transfer it to other developing markets. As an innovative company, BTD is aiming to move forward by investing in the business field of online marketing and mobile portals to its growing reputation.

Stefan Leibhard, who was so far leading the development of the company, is glad to point out: “With Axel Heyenga we are delighted to have an experienced expert and successful manager for the BTD Group. Furthermore, it shows that the company as a solely-owner financed corporation has clearly reached a market position which has an outstanding basis for further expansions and an even more successful future.” Axel Heyenga will work alongside Gerhard Siegesmund, head of software development and the pair will without doubt have a positive influence within the company and its future success.

About the BTD Group:
The BTD Group was founded in 1997 by the managing directors, Stefan Leibhard and Kersten Kröhl with BTD Telekommunikation GmbH. The companies, BTD Newmedia, BTD Service and BTD System followed, devoted to the business sectors of new media, mobile communications and IT services.
BTD Newmedia serves the entire value creation chain in the Internet and, in this role has been managing customers such as DFL, FC Bayern München, VfB Stuttgart or T-Online for many years. As one of only few agencies, BTD Newmedia possesses the competencies to provide a full range of services from consultancy, design and development to up-and-running operation with a round-the-clock service. It‘s portfolio also includes the company’s own call centre.
Since mid April 2008, the newly established BTD International Consulting AG has also been serving sport clubs, leagues, associations, organizers and stadia and arena operators in the construction and modernization of venues. Customers include e.g. the O2 arena in Berlin, the Polish football league and Sony. BTD International Consulting AG primarily benefits in this respect from experience gained in the construction and operation of the Munich Allianz Arena.

About Axel Heyenga:
Initially, Axel had been involved in marketing for the Kirch Gruppe digital TVs as far back as 1996. He then further moved on to become the CEO of the German sports portal group “SPORTAL.” Afterwards, Axel moved onto working for EM.TV AG where the 39 year old had a variety of responsibilities. One of which included the marketing of merchandising rights and dealing with clients for the prestigious FIFA World Cup in 2006.
After the World Cup 2006 project, Alex joined the International Management Group (IMG) where he built up the German office for the business unit “International Licensing”. In his new role of Director of project management and business development for BTD Newmedia, he takes the responsibility to bring success in the growth of the innovation of online and new media and products in the surrounding market.
