Playing manhunt on mobile phone: YouCatch available for HTC G1
YouCatch Playing Field
YouCatch is a location based game for exciting hunting experiences. The player is not playing at home on the sofa, but he has to run through the streets catching other players and hiding him self at the same time. A map of the playing field and the players own position is displayed on the Android phone. Each player gets the mission to seek and catch a target person in the game. The position of the target person is only shown from time to time so that the player takes up an exhausting challenge to come closer to the object.
In the YouCatch version of manhunt, the player is not only a hunter, but at the same time a target person of another YouCatch player. That creates high tension, because every time a hunter indicates that he has caught his victim by pressing the button on his mobile phone, his own position is disclosed and his own hunter might use that chance.
If a player catches a target person successfully, the software assigns the next victim. There is no break, the player needs to catch the next victim and hide from his own hunter as well. The hunting and the flight instinct are stimulated at the same time. The game ends when the last victim is caught. The remaining hunter is the winner of the game.
To play the game the player needs to download the software JOYity on his HTC G1 mobile phone. The software is available on the Android market for free. After starting JOYity there are multiple location based games available, YouCatch is one of them. You need at least two persons to play the game, but more players also generate more fun.
