OPENing 23.10
Press release from: galerie-OPEN
(openPR) - Galerie OPEN is looking forward to presenting - from the 23rd of October until 23rd of December - the works of Max Grüter and the paintings and Embroidery of Andrea Muheim. The exhibition takes place in conjunction with the Galerie Stephan Witischi, Zurich. The launch will take place on the 23rd of October at 7pm, and the artists will be present for the occasion. Grüter and Muheim both live and work in Zürich and they share the common trait that their art is informed by what they experience in their day-to-day surroundings. For Andrea Muheim painting is a form of communication and a place of contemplation, whereas Max Grüter’s installations, sculptures and mixed-media works create an environment which suggests a highly individual artistic cosmos. Furthermore, Grüter’s representations are invested in a sphere only fully comprehensible to the artist himself, yet the viewer is allowed the privilege take part. Muheim, by comparison is a friend to the viewer: she is herself enmeshed in the representations and feelings evoked as she captures the peculiarities of particular people or situations, as a result, outstanding intimacy and touching moments are conveyed.
galerie OPEN, founded in september 2005, is located between the Berlin districts Kreuzberg and Mitte – directly where once the Berlin wall divided the city.
