QNAP TS-509 Pro Turbo NAS Won "Editor's Choice" from MPC Club Europe
The editor from MPC Club Europe did a thorough review on the TS-509 Pro from system setup to server performance including the use of different software features. The TS-509 Pro supports a large variety of services including the Multimedia Station for media playing, iTunes server, Slim server by QPKG open source packages installation etc. It is commented ‘the whole device is well organized, easy to use for novice users and advanced enough for others that it matches any class of consumers.' Besides, the NAS impressed them by delivering an average of 58MB/s write speed and 60MB/s in read performance in their IOMETER tests that they have never come across with any other NAS servers they have reviewed. In their conclusion "the TS-509 Pro earned to be called the best NAS server out there at this moment and the most featured in combination with the easiest one to setup as it is fully automatic by a button press…".
According to Mr. Laurent Cheng, Product Manager from QNAP, "We're glad to receive the award from MPC Club Europe. The TS-509 Pro is not only a complete storage solution for the business users but also an ideal choice as a multimedia center." The users can play the multimedia contents, e.g. mp3 or HD movies saved on the TS-509 Pro on the digital media players (e.g. Slim Devices) or HD network media players by CIFS, NFS, or DLNA streaming over the network. They can use the NAS as a music sharing center by the iTunes server feature or installing the Squeeze Center through the web-based QPKG installation easily. "From the review and the test results performed in our lab, it is proven that the TS-509 Pro delivers outstanding performance in large file transfer. It is the best option for PC-less multimedia sharing over the network", said Mr. Cheng.
