(openPR) - WALTON COUNTY, FLORIDA – October 8, 2008 – Simplifile announced today that under the leadership of Walton County Clerk of Court, Martha Ingle, on September 8, 2008, Walton County, Florida officially begin electronically recording (eRecording) land record documents such as deeds, mortgages, and reconveyances submitted by title companies, abstractors, banks, and attorneys.
eRecording is the process of submitting, receiving, and processing documents for recording via the Internet that have traditionally been sent to the county for recording by runner, express mail, or courier service. eRecording promises to simplify and accelerate all aspects of the recording process, dramatically improving the county’s ability to serve its constituents.
“Walton County is pleased to offer electronic recording,” said Ingle. “We are continually evaluating ways to improve the quality of our services, and are confident that eRecording will enable us to more efficiently record documents, eliminate document filing errors, quickly correct any errors that do exist, and actually increase document security. Additionally, our constituents will have the ability to file and track the status of documents from the convenience of their office using a standard Web browser.”
More than a trend in land record document submission, eRecording is a government priority. Federal (ESIGN) and state legislation (UETA & URPERA) has established the legal basis for secure electronic recording, and dozens of states and counties are already eRecording today.
