(openPR) - DALLAS – Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is proud to announce that Steven E. Ross has been named head of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group.
As leader of Gardere’s IP practice group, Mr. Ross will focus on business development, management, administration, training and mentoring programs for the section, which includes more than 50 attorneys, patent agents and staff.
Mr. Ross succeeds Ken Glaser, a long-time leader in the IP legal community, who has served as the head of the firm’s IP practice group for the past five years. Mr. Glaser will continue his active practice of IP law, while at the same time devoting his newly found time to focusing on business development, training of associates in the IP group, and helping Mr. Ross build the IP practice in our other offices.

According to Mr. Glaser, Mr. Ross is the ideal attorney to lead the section. “We are fortunate to have Steve in our firm. With someone of his caliber and vision in place, my decision to step down from this leadership role was easy,” he says. “I look forward to doing everything I can to support Steve and the initiatives of this team.”
Gardere’s IP practice group focuses on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition law and the antitrust aspects of intellectual property law. Attorneys in the group have significant expertise in trademark and patent prosecution, licensing and related intellectual property litigation. Clients range from individual inventors, artists and authors, to universities and large multi-national corporations.

Mr. Ross’ practice focuses on complex IP litigation, with an emphasis on patent and trademark infringement disputes. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Ross manages patent and trademark prosecution matters and advises clients on the acquisition of intellectual property assets and avoidance of infringement.
