MilSatCom USA 2017 to highlight the wideband AoA and direction

Since the launch of its widely anticipated study of options for meeting future military satellite communications needs, the US Department of Defense continues to explore functional capabilities that the wideband enterprise requires, as well as the capabilities needed to include commercial and international collaborations.

With aims of optimising future US MilSatCom through comprehensive collaboration and cooperation, SMi Group’s 2nd annual MilSatCom USA conference, taking place on June 27 & 28 this year, will be hosting an exclusive panel discussion to further discuss and deliberate “The Wideband SATCOM Analysis of Alternatives and its importance for the Future of US Satellite Programs”.

Led by key experts, the discussion will highlight crucial topics such as the demand for and status of the Wideband AoA; assessing future programs and satellite capabilities with a focus on affordability; guaranteeing effective performance, protection and resilience in any future system; and key challenges facing the Wideband AoA.

Panelists include

• MODERATOR: Brigadier General (Ret'd) Tip Osterthaler, Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO Policy, US Department of Defense
• Joseph Vanderpoorten, Technical Director, MILSATCOM Advanced Concept Group, US Air Force
