(openPR) - Jeremy Shum, who has previously modeled for Disney advertisements back in the Hilary Duff days, has started a new radio show titled Miley5.net. Extending from a Disney Show that he did when he was younger, this show quickly shot up to super-high ratings, reaching an audience of over 2.5 million people in recent poll.
"Back in the day, the show shot into popularity and we were using the Disney trademark, so we needed to change it. I thought, synonymous with Disney, was Miley Cyrus, which isn't trademarked. Plus, knowing she was a fantastic role-model, I could be confident that she would totally last the long haul," he remarks.
The show has been compared with PerezHilton.com, bastardizing the name of teen idol Miley Cyrus, in its earlier episodes, features Miley Cyrus, who admits that she is Christian and that Jesus "woxs", with friend and dancer Mandy Jiroux.
Available on iTunes, the Miley5.net Now! Show, annotated to Mi5, is a play on words to analogize with the British Intelligence Agency (Military Intelligence Section 5), and has featured big names such as Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. Jeremy, who admits he once wanted to become famous through "Christian bad girl" Miley Cyrus says his dreamed turned into his worst nightmare, when the story spiraled out of control.
"The media totally blew things out of proportion," he says.
"I experienced this a few years ago,” he explains, “A leading New Zealand Newspaper, the New Zealand Times, I think, stated that Brooke Fraser and I were on an 'on-and-off’ relationship, which apparently, put her into tears."
"Now, I'm not sure what that says about me, not sure if Brooke Fraser is inferring that I'm a bit of an ugly duckling," he jokes, "but I totally understand where she's coming from. When I say I think Brooke Fraser looks 'hot' on my show, it means just that. Not that I'm having babies with Brooke Fraser. Not that I'm having an affair with her. Not that I'm cheating with her [on her husband]. It just means, I think she's amazingly pretty."
"Media like to twist and spin-doctor the words you say, to sell a story, and their advertisements, I guess, and defend their actions through in-the-book marketing management responses such as editorial deadlines and word limits to cut off what you truly want to say."
As soon as Jeremy Shum and Miley Cyrus spiraled into a sex scandal, he says he was "lucky" to be re-linked with Disney co-star, fellow Christian, and co-purity-ring-wearer Demi Lovato. However, rather than wearing as a ring, she sports it as a necklace.
"I can confidently tell you, that, unless there was a case of mistaken identity, and even then, a combination of that and myself not remembering the circumstances under which this happened, I definitely did not take Miley Cyrus' virginity away, nor cooperated with her youth pastor [Pastor Jeremy Whitehead, youth pastor at The Peoples Church in Nashville Tennessee] to hook up with her."
The Law student also affirmed that he and Mi5 would respond through the Court system to media journalism which was "unjustified".
"Sometimes, media take it one step too far, and write stories that are far too inventive and imaginative. There are set journalism ethic guidelines which they do need to follow, and Mi5 takes a hard-edged approach to legally challenge and respond to outright false and even defamatory claims."
"The problem", he emphasizes, "is when my family and friends read this garbage, and asks me about it."
"As distasteful as it is, I've had to say, 'I didn't have sex with Miley Cyrus' one too many times."
