The Mauritian public is invited for an unfogettable show
(openPR) - MarCom Co. Ltd, a leading Marketing communications agency in Mauritius is proud to present the Mauritian debut of the stunning stage show BHARATI.
Visiting Pailles’ Swami Vivekanada International Convention Centre for ten shows on December 4-14, 2008, BHARATI is a music and dance spectacle boasting a huge cast of performers, 700 costumes, giant video projections, popular Bollywood music, foot tapping dance sequences and amazing displays of martial arts and acrobatics.
Presenting something different from past Bollywood inspired stage shows, BHARATI (bharatitheshow.com) will be accompanied by live music, singers and a narrator. An orchestra of violinists, percussionists, a choir and several talented solo singers, provide their voices and melodies to an incredible mix of classical, traditional and contemporary Indian choreography.
The music of the show not only features original music, composed and arranged just for BHARATI, but also includes some of the most popular hit songs of Indian cinema including songs from films such as the beautiful ‘Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka’ from Devdas, the foot-tapping ‘Bole Chudiyan’ of Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, the emotional ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra’ from Dhadkan and the up tempo ‘Dhoom Machale’ from Dhoom, all performed live by talented singers and dancers.
“With Bharati, we invite the Mauritian public to experience the colours, sounds and dances that unify the treasures, vitality and joy of a singular country that is India in an unforgettable Stageshow,” says Mrs Adeela Rawat-Fiestritzer, CEO of organizer MarCom.
BHARATI is a story about Siddharth, a NRI who arrives in the holy city of Varanasi to work on a cleaning project for the Ganges.
Cynical and dismissive of all things Indian and a complete westerner, he nevertheless finds himself attracted to the mysterious and beautiful Bharati. Bharati who is played by classically trained dancer and actress Bhavna Pani (Tere Liye, Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar) introduces him to the wonders and beauty of India and Siddharth who had come to cleanse the Ganga of its pollution, ends up discovering himself and the meaning of love.
Bharati awakens in Siddharth a desire to connect with his own roots. It is a powerful story of homecoming and is sure to strike an emotional chord with all those who are far away from their home countries.
Actor Rahul Vora from Monsoon Wedding and Swades, will be narrating the story of Siddharth and Bharati. Over ninety minutes, the audience will be taken through a journey of love, discovery and culture with a mix of fourteen extravagant and colourful song and dance sequences.
BHARATI is an innovative and exciting show that has been sharing Indian culture with the world for several years. Having already enjoyed enormous success in France, Germany, Austria, Holland, Belgium and Switzerland this show is now presenting Mauritius audiences a chance to enjoy this theatrical wonder.
“Bharati is a complete spectacle that elevates pure enthusiasm. The audiences frantically tap their hands applauding the graceful feminine choreographies, the energetic male dancers and the martial artists. Spectators’ hands and feet go along with the tremendous rhythms of drums, violins and sitar, all of which are performed by the excellent instrumentalists.” Le Parisien, France.
"Powerfully virtuous, incredibly precise and amazingly fast paced dancing show… breathtaking swordfights and ceremonial rites…old and new mix themselves together to a kaleidoscope of swirling pictures and puzzling tableau" Die Welt, Hamburg, Germany.
Featuring amazing sights and sounds, at the Swami Vivekananda on December 4-14, 2008, BHARATI will bring alive the Indian subcontinent's power and passion and get you on your feet!
Tickets will be sold on the Otayo network as from October. Watch this space!
