PSI Presents New Traffic Control System at the InnoTrans 2008 in Berlin

Tourism, Cars, Traffic
Press release from: PSI AG
(openPR) - Berlin, 29 August 2008 – The Berlin PSI subsidiary PSI Transcom GmbH will be presenting its new, integrated control system solution for transportation companies at the InnoTrans in Berlin from 23 to 26 September 2008. The solution combines the functionalities of the depot management, passenger information and control systems on a single platform. Further focal points are the customer information system for the Rhaetische Bahn Switzerland as well as presentations on RFID tracking at work yards and GSM/GPRS group calling.

The new system is oriented on the current Microsoft operating concepts and combines RBL, DFI and BMS functionalities on one platform. Besides more flexible and simple display possibilities, additional optimizations and increases in efficiencies in the operational processes have been realised.

The Customer Information System (CIS) is currently being introduced at the Rhätische Bahn. Using TFT displays at train stations, the system provides current information and, through web technologies, allows for additional customer and marketing activities.

With the RFID tracking in halls and outside areas at work yards, it is possible to precisely locate the lane and parking place of vehicles or the exact location. The depot management system communicates the tracking information and updates the location of the vehicle accordingly.

The PSI group call solution, which has been especially designed for transportation companies, allows dispatchers in the headquarters to predefine group calls or to manage freely selected groups of vehicles.
