(openPR) - Only Raxco Software’s Leading Utility Defragments All Metadata
GAITHERSBURG, MD – August 27, 2008 – PerfectDisk 2008, the leading disk defragmentation software, is the only disk defragmentation utility that defragments all NTFS metadata, in addition to data files, resulting in the most complete defragmentation available on the market today. The NTFS metadata files are the files that define the file system. There are several NTFS metadata files, and PerfectDisk 2008 displays them all, and defragments all of them during an offline (boot time) defrag. Examples of such files include $Logfile, $Bitmap, $Volume, as well as several others.
Neither the Windows built-in defragmenters nor other third-party utilities are able to defragment all of the NTFS metadata. Only PerfectDisk 2008 can, resulting in a completely defragmented disk drive. Any other solution cannot provide this thoroughness. In fact, some other defragmenters do not even show these files that are not defragmented.
