(openPR) - Works on Display at Hotel St. Regis August 23rd

DETROIT- SuVon and Siana Treece, sisters and metro Detroit artists, will showcase their familial talent at their collaborative art show aptly named “Artistic Expressions” on Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Detroit’s Hotel St. Regis.

This free exhibition will showcase their work ranging from acrylic paintings to charcoal drawings. Most of their art features bright colors and contemporary design influenced by their own individual tastes.

Although there is a seven year age difference between the sisters, they have shared their individual perspectives to make their combined debut. SuVon, the eldest of the two, received a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Michigan, while Siana continues her studies in fashion at the Art Institute of Chicago.

“Here in Motown, you typically see families share talent in the performing arts,” said Calvin Brazile, seasoned artist, graphic designer and president of CompuArt Design. ”But it’s rare to find common gifts in the fine arts among siblings, it’s more an individual art.”

SuVon Treece is Brazile’s vice president and partner at CompuArt Design. Her experience has proven invaluable to him as he has been the sole designer after opening his own design firm over eight years ago.

SuVon reveres Cubist movement leader Pablo Picasso and African American Legend Jacob Lawrence while Siana follows the style of pop art legend Andy Warhol.

“My sister has a free approach to art while I am more reserved,” said SuVon of her sister Siana. “She grew up watching me, as I watched my father compose his own pieces.”

She credits her father’s eye for aesthetics and considers inheriting her creativity from him. Since then the two sisters have worked together to share their expression for the first time on August 23, 2008.

The historic Hotel St. Regis sits in the heart of Detroit’s New Center Area is located at 3071 West Grand Boulevard.

A selection of displayed art will be available for purchase. Also, hors d’oeuvres will be served. This event is sponsored by CompuArt Design. For more information, visit www.CompuArtDesign.com.
