Steroid sales targets kids throughout the USA and lures them into buying counterfeit drugs.

When Anthony Roberts took the job at steroid.com he assumed it was for his research and writing skills that made him one of the top authors in the cult world of performance enhancing drugs. He learned shortly that there was more to the job.

“I was supposed to write articles based on science that either showed the positive or negative effects of anabolic steroids for steroid.com, a website owned by my boss Brian Clapp” Roberts recalled. Brian Clapp owns several websites: steroid.com, buysteroids.com, roidstore.com and one that was to appear to be as an anti-steroid website warning of the dangers of steroid use – steroidabuse.com.

“Once I started producing content I noticed that Clapp was removing my name and placing his as the author” Roberts asserted. Since he wasn’t hired to ghost-write this caused some friction but not nearly the friction that it caused when he learned of the inner workings of Mr. Clapp’s real business.

“Clapp makes his money tricking tens of thousands of people, many of whom I believe are teenagers, into thinking they’re buying anabolic steroids - which turn out to be nothing more than a couple of dollars worth of herbs, packaged to look like anabolic steroids.” Roberts said.

Clapp operates his business form Texas, but Roberts feels that the problem is much closer to home for all American’s. “A lot of teens buy this stuff. High school aged kids think they’re buying steroids.” And with a new school year around the corner Roberts predicts that Clapp’s business is about to surge again.

Roberts, who authored the book Beyond Steroids and Anabolic Steroids, Ultimate Research Guide, is opposed to teanagers using performance enhancing drugs. “I get emails from kids all the time asking questions about this steroid and that steroids and my answer is always the same – don’t do it” Roberts defended. “At that age you don’t need drugs, just lots of training, good nutritious food and plenty of sleep to recover” he tells them.

Ironically, it’s not the use of anabolic steroids that drove Roberts from his job with Clapp. It was the deceptive nature that Clapp employs to lure unsuspecting buyers into doing business.
“Clapp is directly telling his customers that they’re buying anabolic steroids by the site descriptions. The site descriptions openly say that he’s selling steroids, and the sites are designed to persuade the viewer into thinking that’s is exactly what they are getting.” Roberts continued. “Mr.Clapp has even gone so far as to make his fake steroids sound like the real thing by giving them names that sound like legitimate anabolic steroids. And on his own site, Steroid.com, in the steroid profiles section of the main page, Mr. Clapp’s fake steroids are listed and given write-ups along with all of the legitimate anabolic steroids.”

Internal documents found on Mr. Clapp’s personal computer have been released, in which Mr. Clapp directly states that the product’s labels will “be used to trick the viewer into thinking that our bottles and labels are the REAL stuff” and that the two websites were designed to “ make them think our bottles are real steroids” and to “trick them into thinking that we are selling the real drugs.”

Shortly after leaving his job with Clapp, Roberts decided to release the true nature of things by exposing the real ingredients in Clapp’s would-be steroids by publishing the ingredients on his personal blog. Roberts explained “he had my domain names revoked and my blog removed”. Apparently Mr. Clapp had the domain registrar and serving companies contacted by his lawyer so that Roberts would be silenced.

“The websites offer payment options like money orders, because teens rarely have credit cards, and they even say there’s no prescription necessary and discrete shipping is used” and Roberts added that “the colors, the site design…everything on those sites is purposely designed to appeal to high-school kids looking for steroids

Both RoidStore.com and BuySteroids.com have been featured on RipoffReport.com as well as PissedConsumer.com and complaints have been filed with the Federal Trade Commission, the DEA, FBI, and the Better Business Bureau.

Despite this, no legal action has yet been taken against Brian Clapp or his fraudulent businesses.
