(openPR) - Hollywood legend Michael Ballhaus teaches Italian students from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenza how to film. The students are supposed to make an audiovisual encyclopedia, which documents culinary culture und traditional life styles of different Italian regions. For shooting, Michael Ballhaus had chosen two Sony PMW-EX1 from Band Pro Munich.”Food meets Film” is the name of the project which initally started out as an experiment. Shown in the category “culinary cinema” at the “Berlinale 2008”, the crew around patron Michael Ballhaus is now producing already the third season in an Italian supermarket called “Eataly”. It’s innovative shop concept featuring slow and organic food has turned out to be the perfect film location. Together with German documentarist and Berlinale board member Thomas Struck, Ballhaus directs such unusual scenes as shooting out of a shopping cart. Band Pro Munich had advised the PMW-EX1 camcorders because of their striking HD picture quality, extra mobility and great operational efficiency.
