(openPR) - In the Philippines, Unilever has presented Famous Pacific Forwarding Phils with a Service Vendor Award in recognition of the excellent standards of transport and logistics services that have been provided over the last decade.
Famous Pacific Forwarding Phils is a member of the Famous Pacific Shipping Group, the fast expanding Asia-based air and oceanfreight services supplier.
According to Ms Alvarado, Director of Famous Pacific Forwarding Phils, the award represents ten years of the highest service standards to Unilever in the Philippines and is not awarded without the most stringent examination of delivery performance and achievement.
“All vendors were appraised in the areas of service quality, service levels, price and corporate activity. Service was given a weighting of at least 50% of the award. Simply to be considered, a company has to render exceptional service to Unilever, above and beyond what they would normally offer. We are proud that our staff have gone that extra mile,” said Ms Alvarado.
“We are also proud that this is our third nomination since 2004. This award is not limited to transport providers and FPS was judged against promotional and merchandising providers, truckers, logistics and warehousing providers, domestic and international shipping lines, engineering contractors, IT and telecom providers – in fact, any company that supplies Unilever with products and services.”
Factors that helped Famous Pacific Forwarding Phils win the award include the company’s proactive real-time reporting on transport and logistics issues, especially rushed and urgent shipments under the Unilever ‘One Chain’ system. FPS staff also work with Unilever’s category planners and buyers to ensure that shipments are despatched only when required, thereby preventing any build-up of excess inventory. Unilever also took into consideration other operational matters, such as help in expediting cargo release by Customs.
Ms Alvarado adds: “Everything we do for Unilever helps its bottom-line. In 2007, we helped Unilever to save almost USD40,000 in operational and other costs. We want to thank the management and staff of FPS Manila and look forward to continuing our partnership with Unilever!”
The award was accepted by Menchie B Alvarado at Unilever’s prestigious Vendor Awards Night held at SMX Manila.
