AUVA decides for Conigma™ QCOPY

IT, New Media & Software
Press release from: Galileo Tools GmbH
(openPR) - AUVA believes in significantly enhanced quality, greater transparency and savings in time and costs by using Conigma QCOPY, when copying and rebuilding SAP® systems

Munich, July 21, 2008 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for change and transport management of SAP®, announces today that AUVA – an accident insurance company based in Vienna, Austria which provides coverage for about 3 million workers and employees, 1.3 million high school and college students and a large number of voluntary aid organisations – has decided to procure Conigma QCOPY. Conigma QCOPY ensures that when an SAP system is copied and rebuilt, or a backup is deployed, all adaptation and software components which were available on the original SAP system are fully installed again, automatically.

"In the history, we used an organisational approach, attempting to solve one of the typical challenges occurring copying a SAP system. In practical terms this meant, that before a system copy from the SAP production system to the SAP quality assurance system (QA) was done, all of our developers needed to inspect all transport requests which had been transported to the SAP QA system, but not yet been released for the SAP production system, in order to release as many as possible of these. The objective of checking this transport requests was to reduce the differences in the import queues between the production and QA system and therefore decrease the manual effort for rebuilding the import queue for the QA system," explains Gustav Kaippel, Director of the Departments of Finance, IT and Organisation with AUVA. "This manual checking process was very time-consuming for our SAP IT department and errors occurred repeatedly even though great care was taken. Conigma QCOPY makes this inspection and rebuilding the import queue manually obsolete, and what’s even more important, our QA System is now available again for daily use after copying far more quickly then before."

"AUVA is a very cost-aware and quality-oriented company. The information at our disposal indicates that the investment in Conigma QCOPY will have paid off within 12 months at the latest, and this ROI calculation does not even take into account soft factors such as higher quality and the ability to access the QA system for daily operations quickly," adds Josef Huber, General Manager of Galileo Tools GmbH.

Conigma QCOPY allows users via an intuitive graphical interface, to rebuild a SAP system to a consistent state after a system copy or the deployment of a backup has taken place by automatically calculating and generating the necessary import queue. It also facilitates copying between different SAP clients. While it is not possible with the SAP interface to indicate technical modes, such as a software component to be installed, these modes are recognised by Conigma QCOPY and automatically implemented correctly.
