(openPR) - Modification of industrial boilers for bio-energy – heat supplies to private households possible by burning the agrarSTICK® black in central-heating installa-tions
Marienrachdorf, July 16th, 2008 - Using its bio-energy concept, Marienrachdorf-based PUSCH AG is bringing agriculture and industry together as contracting partners. The key is agro-thermal technology used for the manufacture of the agrarSTICK® black, a fuel based on agri-cultural residues. The company is using this material to offer an optimal concept for the in-dustry – the move to an ecological energy supply is an up-to-the-minute subject for the in-dustrial sector. Considerations of image, security and finance as well as new legislation to increase the proportion of renewable energies argue in favour of the modification of indus-trial gas and oil heating installations.
Only the boiler and the chimney in existing heating systems have to be modified. PUSCH AG offers multi-functional boilers so that companies can flexibly manage their heating require-ments and use wood pellets as well as agrar-pellets. The agrarSTICK® black can be used in many applications. They can, for example, be used as a fuel for thermal power stations, as a heat source for companies with large industrial bays or for market gardens with green-houses to heat or even for heating swimming pools or hotel facilities. The boiler must, how-ever, have an output of over 100 kW so that it therefore falls within the scope of the 1st Ordinance for the Implementation of the Federal Emission Control Act.
The agrarSTICK® also already offers great potential for private use even though the use of the agrarSTICK® yellow as a fuel in small-scale furnaces is only possible up to the present time in Germany with a special permit as pellets made from mixed materials are not yet ap-proved for use as a normal fuel. However, the agrarSTICK® black can be used in the heating systems of apartment blocks. Equipping complete residential areas or apartment blocks with boilers with an output greater 100 kW is quite conceivable. This solution is of particular in-terest to housing associations which can incorporate agro-thermal technology into the de-sign of their larger apartment buildings right from the start.
“Local manufacture is a decided plus in favour of our agro-heat concept“, stated Guido Pusch, CEO of PUSCH AG, who went on to explain: ”Our motto is From the region – for the region.“ There are two options for the practical interaction between regional agriculture and industry: either industrial customers purchase PUSCH AG’s pellet machines themselves and produce the fuel for their heating systems in cooperation with farmers who supply agricul-tural residues, or the possibility of contracting whereby companies guarantee farmers from their region a fixed off-take of agrar-pellets, thus helping them in their entry into the PUSCH AG licence system. “A farmer’s annual production of residues for energy generation corre-sponds on average to 10 megawatts, which is an amount which is certainly of interest to one or more industrial customers“, explained Guido Pusch, CEO of PUSCH AG who elabo-rated this point further by stating: “We need customers for 2000 tons of agrarSTICKs® to be able to load a production facility economically. This is a quantity which is sufficient to supply several industrial customers with fuel.“
The agrarSTICK® black offers many options to use agricultural raw materials and waste prod-ucts in many regions of the world for energy production. Even waste products from up-stream production such as the dried, fermented substrate from a biogas plant can be in-cluded in the formulation. In principle, every type of biomass can be tested for its suitability for the agrarSTICK®. The agrarSTICK® is optimised and standardised by means of a specially developed concentrate made from biological ingredients which aids the ignition, combustion, ash and emission behaviour of the agrarSTICK® while burning. Thanks to this concentrate, PUSCH AG guarantees operating conditions which protect the furnace by maintaining the ideal combustion temperature as well as compliance with emission threshold values.
About the company:
PUSCH AG, based in Marienrachdorf, is the first internationally oriented company in the renewable energy sector to be active as a full-range supplier in the field of agro-thermal technology. This young company has set its sights on opening up and leading the market in the field of alternative agro-energy. As well as producing and marketing agrar-pellets, PUSCH AG develops, manufactures and markets a special concentrate to optimise pellet manufacture. The company also manufactures spe-cial agrar-pellet machines, produces the agrar-pellets and markets them under the name agrarSTICK®. www.pusch.ag
