PSI Obtains New Customer in Steel Sector in Brazil - Villares Metals decides in favor of PSImetals

(openPR) - Berlin, 30 June 2008 – PSI has been charged by the Brazilian Villares Metals S.A. with the delivery of the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) PSImetals for the company’s plant in Sumaré. Villares Metals will employ the Production Execution System (PES) and Advanced Line Sequencing (ALS) components to optimize the efficiency of the production processes and the quality of the products. The start of operations is planned for mid-2009.

“Attaching great importance to quality aspects in production is a main competitive advantage of our company.” explains Bruno Ramos, General Manager Meltshop at Villares Metals. “We selected PSI and PSImetals to standardize the production of each steel grade and to ensure quality by higher automated processes. We have been convinced by PSI’s strong experience in the area of ensuring quality in steel making and their PSImetals solution as well as highly pleased customers.”

Villares Metals is the largest Latin American producer of non-flat highly alloyed specialty steels, which, amongst other areas, are used by the automobile and aerospace industries. With its new customer Villares Metals, PSI is expanding its position as a leading international provider of vertical market solutions for the steel industry in South America as well.
