(openPR) - Los Angeles, CA – Saturday June 28, 2008 artist manager Charles Belk (Charles Belk Management) will host a seminar titled, “Hollywood: Expanding your brand into movies,” at the up-coming “Uplifting Minds II” Entertainment Conference.
The two day conference will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The seminars are from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. (Rm 510 West Hall) and other topics include “entertainment law tips” by Richard Jefferson, Esq., “careers in television” by TV producer Chris Denson; “benefits of electronic record labels” by CEO/Prsident of Boosweet Enterprises, LLC, and “PR/media and promotions strategies” by Eunice Moseley, Director of Promotions The Baltimore Times and syndicated columnist, The Pulse of Entertainment.
Belk has a BS degree from the University of Southern California and a MBA from Indiana University. Charles is president and chief branding officer of Charles Belk Management, a Los Angeles based entertainment agency that offers artist independent film brand awareness and marketing services. He is a talent manager, brand marketing expert and filmmaker. He sits on the board of directors of both the Silver Lake Film Festival and the inaugural 2008 Downtown Film Festival – Los Angeles. Charles has held senior level marketing positions at IBM and PepsiCo, and has extensive experience in grassroots, guerilla, viral, online, word-of-mouth and promotional marketing tactics that aid in successful brand awareness campaigns for artists and filmmakers.
The second day of the conference on Sunday June 29th the national talent competition showcase is held where artists in vocal, songwriting and dance will compete before a panel of judges that will give advice, and if they are impressed enough, may open some doors. The showcase will be held from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. (Rm 501ABC West Hall), admission is free.
