Ahmed Mokhtar named International Correspondent for PMForum in Egypt

(openPR) - Senior Egyptian Project Management Expert joins PMForum’s global correspondent network to provide news from Egypt and North Africa

Dallas, Texas — PMForum, Inc. announced today that Ahmed Saleh Mokhtar has been named an International Correspondent in Cairo, Egypt. PMForum’s global network of international correspondents delivers project management-related news and information from around the world and provides local representation. PMForum operates www.pmforum.org, the world’s first website devoted to professional project management, and produces the popular monthly online e-Journal PM World Today.

According to PMForum Managing Editor David Pells, “Ahmed Mokhtar has been active in the Egyptian project management community for many years. He is well known throughout the region, having taught many courses and assisted many Egyptian national and international organizations in Egypt and across the Middle East. We are excited about having a correspondent in Egypt and honored to have Mr. Mokhtar join our global team.”

Mokhtar Saleh Mokhtar is the Consultancy Director for Promastar, a Cairo-based project management advisory and training firm (since 2004). He is a senior project management consultant and professional with a 23-year service record providing project management services to public and private sector organizations in Egypt, Germany, Saudi Arabia and the UA Emirates. He was previously Director of the Project Management Division in an EPM Consultancy in Cairo from 1998-2003. Between 1989 and 1998 he worked in the project management division of Architectural Office Faulenbach in Germany. From 1983 to 1989 he was a project engineer in Egypt. Mr. Mokhtar gained his B. Sc. Degree in Engineering in 1983 from Assuit University in Egypt and a Master’s degree in Construction Project Management in 1991 from Hochschule Hidesheim/Holzminden University in Germany. He received his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 1999.

Mr Mokhtar has been visiting lecturer for project management in the Graduate School for Management, Arab Academy for Science and Technology and at the 6 October University in Egypt. He has provided many project management training courses with major local and international organizations in Egypt and the Middle East. He is a Charter member of the Egyptian Project Management Society (EPMS) and a current member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). He served from 2005 to 2007 on the Board of Directors as VP of PMI’s Chapter Middle East / North Africa (PMI-MENA). He is also a Member of the Management Engineering Society (MES), the local national member of the International Project Management Association (IPMA). He has been recognized nationally as a member of the committee for issuing a new code of practice for construction project management in Egypt (2007-2008) and the ministerial committee for evaluating and negotiating the Greater Cairo Waste Treatment Project with a budget of one billion USD.
