(openPR) - Munich, Germany. 02 June 2008 – TPG PSLink®, the world’s leading product for the bidirectional integration of Microsoft Project with SAP, is ten years old this year. Now in its fourth generation, the solution offers customers a broad range of configuration options adapted to their requirements, as well as exceptionally rapid implementation.

The idea behind TPG PSLink® was what led Stavros Georgantzis, Managing Director of TPG The Project Group, to set up his company in 1998. “Ten years ago, two well-known German companies asked me if it was possible to seamlessly exchange data between their Microsoft Project and SAP systems. I found that a really interesting market opportunity and told them: ‘Not yet, but soon!’. Then I rolled my sleeves up and got to work.” Georgantzis founded his company and hired specialist staff specifically to develop a product to support bidirectional integration. Despite coming up against an unexpected level of complexity – in those days, SAP R/3 Version 3.1 did not include the range of interfaces available in today’s SAP systems – Georgantzis and his team officially launched the product in early 2000.

In the eight years since then, TPG PSLink has gone from strength to strength. It was initially tailored to the Microsoft Project Server in such a way that all necessary synchronization processes could be scheduled to run in the background. TPG then expanded the product’s configuration options and implemented its permissions system. The third generation appeared in 2004 and was notable for the inclusion of multiple use cases, especially those relating to financial controlling. The current generation of TPG PSLink – the fourth – has been available since late 2006. It enables customers to integrate Microsoft Project Server 2003 or 2007 with as many SAP systems as they require, as well as with external databases.

Today, the product’s maturity and flexible configuration options enable TPG to carry out implementations at record speed and save its customers considerable time and money compared to custom-programmed solutions. TPG PSLink meets the needs of all of a company’s project management staff and helps them leverage even more value from their SAP and Microsoft Project systems.

“When I look back over the last ten years and think of all our delighted customers around the globe, I know all our hard work has been worth it!” comments Stavros Georgantzis. “TPG PSLink is a proven and reliable solution that generates tangible value for our customers. And that’s really something to celebrate.”

Demand for TPG PSLink is also growing rapidly in the USA. As a result, TPG established TPG America (www.tpgamerica.com) in Jamison, PA in May 2007. The product’s increasing popularity is underscored by the fact that the US subsidiary, led by Paul Szyarto, has exceeded its sales targets many times over. The next step for TPG is to further extend its global presence by establishing a worldwide partner network.
