HERMOSA BEACH SOCCER CLUB OPENS RECRUITING PERIOD
Press release from: Hermosa Beach Soccer Club
(openPR) - Hermosa Beach, CA – The Hermosa Beach Soccer Club (HermosaBeachSoccerClub.com) today announced the opening of the Summer 2008 Recruiting Period. With the regular season over for all three men’s teams, the team managers begin the process of evaluating their rosters for the 2008/2009 season that runs from September to May.
The Hermosa Beach Soccer Club maintains three men’s teams: Premier Division, Over-30 and Over-40. All three teams compete in the South Bay Peninsula Soccer League as well as various regional tournaments held throughout the year.
“Overall our men’s teams had a great year. Our Over-30 squad finished in first place with a season record of 15-4-3 and it has been successful in the post-season tournament with a shot at the semi-final round if it wins this weekend. Our Premier Division team continued its dominating play and finished runner-up in league play with a 11-4-3 record and runner-up in the post-season tournament. Unfortunately injuries and turnover had an adverse effect on our Over-40 squad, which had a disappointing finish to the season,” said Jesse Torres, Club Founder and Division 30 player. “While our rosters going into September are solid and should result in equally impressive play next year, our Club’s success is built on maintaining consistency while introducing new talent to the mix. The summer is the time our managers evaluate new talent and make the critical personnel decisions that will lead to a successful season during the upcoming year.”
“If you are a serious and skilled soccer player in Los Angeles chances are you are familiar with the Hermosa Beach Soccer Club. Our organization takes pride in maintaining a club comprised of talented players who seek to belong to a true soccer family. Players in our organization pass from the Premier team to the Over-30 and Over-40 teams. With the Hermosa Beach Soccer Club, you’ll never walk alone,” said Brian Dragich, HBSC President. “Every year we introduce new players to our family. This is how I joined the Club. I haven’t left since.”
