(openPR) - TRANSLIT.CC, the worldwide provider of online web services, announces this week release of the new free transliteration web service to support speakers and learners of Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Greek, Belarusian, Georgian and Armenian languages.

The Russian transliteration service available at www.translit.cc is now complemented with six additional language converters. These are Ukrainian transliteration converter at ua.translit.cc , Bulgarian at bg.translit.cc , Belarusian at by.translit.cc , Greek at gr.translit.cc , Georgian at ge.translit.cc and Armenian at am.translit.cc.

The web-based tool performs literal conversion between Latin script and seven national scripts and alphabets of all supported languages. One possible application of this service is to provide speakers of non-Latin languages a possibility to type texts in their native alphabetical system via a standard Latin (English, German etc) keyboard. This application is very actual due to the big number of migrants to the countries like USA or Western European countries like England, Germany and France, where the writing system is traditionally based on the Latin script.

Technically, the transliterator is implemented as a JavaScript application, which runs inside of the client's browser and has no interactions with its web server once loaded, ensuring fast response times. The user simply needs to type in text with Latin letters and it will be automatically transliterated into Cyrillic, Greek, Georgian or Armenian letters. It is also possible to insert text directly from the clipboard and convert it in both ways.

There is no need for a separate installation which removes any potential risk of virus coming from an unauthorized installation point. Updates to the conversion algorithms are also instantaneous; all service users enjoy improvements immediately after they were made to the web service.

The TRANSLIT.CC service uses the latest WEB 2.0 technologies to allow users to convert Latin-lettered texts to Russian, Bulgarian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Greek, Georgian and Armenian alphabets. Thousands of Internet users all over the world are already using this web application on a daily basis.

To try the the Russian online transliteration service visit web site at www.translit.cc. From there visitors can navigate one of the preferred languages using the menu on the top of the site.
