(openPR) - At the occasion of the 25th Fresh Produce Forum held a day before the opening of the Fruit Logistica 2006, the German Fruchthandel Magazine granted their annual award 2006 to EurepGAP. This was done in recognition of EurepGAP`s achievements in the implementation and the harmonisation of Food Safety systems that also reflect environmental and social issues.
“Receiving this award is a great honour which I would like to pass on to all our members and certified farmers and farmer groups in 65 countries. We see this as strong re-enforcement of our work and as incentive to continue our journey towards global harmonisation”, says Kristian Moeller, Secretary EurepGAP. “Especially the newly introduced tools for all-chain traceability, field passport and UAID as well as the co-operation with the trade sector to add residue monitoring systems will respond to the rapidly growing market demands especially coming recently from Germany. With the partnership with T-Systems can EurepGAP manage such a global strategy.”
