(openPR) - May 1 saw the end of polling and the tallying of votes for the first-ever rating of top female Russian DJs. DJs Polina, Sveta and Helga were declared the winners.
The best DJs of the TOP 100 Russian DJs 2007 list took part in the poll. Sixteen of them refused to submit answers and five were inaccessible for the vote, but 79 DJs did name which female performers they thought should top the list. Participating DJs included such gurus as DJ Fonar, Vini and Romeo.
The rating was based on the “DJs appraise DJs” system, which was first used in 2006 by the DJ.ru portal . The rating is based on the opinions of professional DJs (hence the rating’s name). Each participant is asked to name his or her three favorite female DJs. Each respondent’s top choice was awarded five points, the second choice received three points, and the third – one point.
The poll itself was held between April 5 and April 30. It was commissioned by the first female booking agency, XXDj.ru, the MyDj.ru (www.mydj.ru) booking agency; and the PROSTOR: PR & Consulting (www.msk-pr.ru) public relations firm. The poll itself was conducted by Victoria Bubnova, a musical journalist who publishes in Vash Dosug (Your Leisure), Sovetnik (Consultant), ELLE and other magazines. The votes were tallied by Anton Nestin (PROSTOR: PR & Consulting).
MyDj.ru is a professional DJ booking agency specializing in booking DJs for various events. Its management has been operating on the club scene market since 2001. MyDj.ru’s booking list is primarilly based on DJs from Moscow, Saint Petersburg and the Russian regions. MyDj.ru also works with DJs from Britain, the United States, Spain, France and Brazil. The agency’s priorities include the promotion of both the DJing profession and techno/electronic music.
