(Oakland, CA) May 12, 2008 - Johansson Projects presents "Crossing the Delaware" by artist and Vice Presidential candidate Matt Gonzalez. Matt produces collages from found objects creating faux personal narratives that evoke nostalgia and trigger subconscious embedded memories and associations. His art focuses primarily with found paper fragments, creating objects that adhere to his personal sense of equilibrium.
Mr. Gonzalez is currently Ralph Nader's vice presidential running mate on an independent ticket. He is a former San Francisco Supervisor and ran for mayor in the city in 2003.
Mr. Gonzalez has previously exhibited his art at LINCart, Adobe Books backroom gallery and the Soap Gallery in San Francisco.
